(LifeSiteNews) — As inflation continues to rise and Canadians increasingly face financial stresses, the Trudeau government’s response thus far has been to firehose money indiscriminately in every direction and to print boatloads of it—with predictably disastrous results. But in addition to that, it is illustrative of this government’s priorities to note that they are still seeking every imaginable opportunity to promote the LGBT agenda.

There are plenty of examples of this. We reported in August on the Trudeau government’s new commitment to give government employees seeking sex changes tens of thousands of dollars for surgeries and other “treatments.” But that’s not the latest or the most ridiculous. Cosmin Dzsurdzsa, a researcher for the Truth North Centre, recently highlighted the fact that the Canadian government apparently has “Public Service Pride Awards,” given out to those who are especially keen on promoting all things LGBT in public.

The awards are given for “promoting and strengthening LGBTQ2+ diversity, inclusion and pride in the federal public service,” which is a government mandated thing now.

On Twitter, Dzurdzsa shared some of the nominations. Correctional Service Canada received a nomination for “painting the risers leading to Dorchester Penitentiary Medium the colour of the Pride Flag.” The prisoners must have been so proud that their place of incarceration radiated such tolerant vibes, giving them an opportunity to participate in Canada’s Pride Month.

Agriculture Canada was nominated for a Public Service Pride Award for “adding pronouns to DirectInfo,” presumably earning gratitude from Canadian farmers everywhere (although most still assign their livestock sex at birth. One step at a time, folx).

Canadian Heritage’s nomination came from hosting an event titled “Queering Black History Month: A Drag and Virtual Social Gathering.” It doesn’t matter, incidentally, that a majority of non-white Canadians do not support the queering of everything—their opinion does not matter. Everything must be queered, including and especially our history.

Public Safety Canada, which “is the department of the Government of Canada responsible for matters of public safety, emergency management, national security, and emergency preparedness in Canada,” went above and beyond by hosting a “Drag King Read-along and Allyship training.”

There are other awards government employees can receive too, by the way (it’s important to be inclusive!) Examples include:

  • The Agent of Change Award recognizes advocates and leaders who are initiating and driving action to remove systemic barriers and advance the inclusion and integration of LGBTQ2+ communities in the federal public service.
  • The Pride Network of the Year Award recognizes a departmental or agency pride network that stood out over the course of the year through its work in bringing together LGBTQ2+ employees and allies to advance sexual orientation and gender identity equality across their department or agency.
  • The Workplace Pride Initiative of the Year Award recognizes an individual’s or team’s novel workplace policy, plan, event or activity that has demonstrated benefit for LGBTQ2+ inclusion in the workplace.
  • The Career Impact Award recognizes individuals who have made a lasting and substantial impact during their career through long-standing and active support of LGBTQ2+ communities within the federal public service.

So there you have it. The Trudeau government’s social progressivism has been a priority from day one, but the prime minister has done more than virtue-signal—he’s implemented programs and prizes and initiatives of every sort. Why? Because these sorts of things tend to be permanent. A Conservative prime minister is likely to simply shrug and ignore all of this stuff in order to avoid a loud and shouty news cycle from our government-funded media demanding to know why the bigots in the Conservative Party wanted to cancel the Drag King reading at Public Safety Canada.

And that’s how Canada got queered.
