(LifeSiteNews) – Last month, the popular British children’s show Peppa Pig featured lesbian polar bears, the latest in a series of efforts by the LGBT movement to use kids’ entertainment to normalize same-sex relationships at early ages. That followed on the heels of major franchises such as Clifford, Blue’s Clues, Arthur, and, of course, Disney who queered their content in alignment with the LGBT movement’s agenda.
Now it’s a key character from the American animated media franchise, Scooby-Doo, which features four teenagers who solve mysteries with their Great Dane. The TV series has been airing since 1969, and has been voted one of the “greatest cartoons of all time” by TV Guide. The latest movie in the franchise, Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo, portrays character Velma Dinkley as a lesbian.

Velma is officially a lesbian.
Clips from the brand new movie “Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!,” which show the Mystery Inc. member googly-eyed and speechless when encountering costume designer Coco Diablo, have gone viral on Twitter, confirming suspicions held by the “Scooby” fan base for decades.
It’s long been an open secret among fans and “Scooby-Doo” creatives that Velma is gay. Even James Gunn, who wrote the early live-action films, and Tony Cervone, who served as supervising producer on the “Mystery Incorporated” series, have confirmed the character’s sexuality, but they were never able to make it official onscreen. In 2020, Gunn tweeted that he “tried” to make Velma a lesbian in the live-action movies. “In 2001 Velma was explicitly gay in my initial script,” he wrote. “But the studio just kept watering it down & watering it down, becoming ambiguous (the version shot), then nothing (the released version) & finally having a boyfriend (the sequel).”
For those who scoffingly insist that this is obviously no big deal, that’s not how LGBT activists or the media see it. Here’s a sampling of headlines:

Why does the media and the LGBT movement see this as so significant? As I’ve written over and over again in this space, it is because they understand the power of stories and storytellers—and they understand that they can convey their worldview to young children through these mediums long before they end up in front of an indoctrinator at a public school.
In fact, plenty of parents who grew up with the aforementioned franchises and believe them to be innocent fun — even parents who send their kids to private schools or homeschool their children — might let them watch these shows without knowing that the creators are now deliberately attempting to shape the minds of their children.
I’ll say it again: there are very few franchises — if any — that will survive the mop-up operations of the sexual revolution. They are fighting for complete dominance of every aspect of the culture, and they own TV and Hollywood. They’d like to own the minds of your children, too. That part is up to you.
