(LifeSiteNews) — The Paris Olympics have torqued a now-international conversation about males in female spaces, with the mainstream press working overtime to claim that any concerns constitute paranoia, transphobia, and “witch-hunting.” We even got introduced to a new term – “transvestigation” – which apparently refers to an “unfounded conspiracy theory that tries to prove that notable people, typically prominent female figures, especially athletes, are secretly trans.”

Thus, the female athletes who protested at the Olympics by making an “x” sign with their fingers for the cameras (to symbolize the XX female chromosome) were predictably portrayed negatively. All this serves to distract people from the fact that trans-identifying males in female spaces continue to perpetrate violence against women, often when they are at their most vulnerable. These press stories essentially invert the truth, claiming that trans-identifying males are the victims, while women and girls who have the gall to complain are the oppressors.

Other stories, however, go largely ignored except by alternative media. A few weeks ago, for example, the Post Courier in Greenville, South Carolina, reported the arrest of a trans-identifying male who goes by the name “Michelle Silva Perez.” Perez had been permitted access to the Shepherd’s Gate emergency shelter for women and mothers with young children but was kicked out for misconduct. (Shelter employees say they didn’t know Perez was male; Miracle Hill Ministries, which runs Shepherd’s Gate, also has a men’s shelter a short distance away.)

Perez then attacked a female employee, stabbing her so viciously in the stomach that he left her internal organs exposed.

The employee was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery; Perez is in police custody. The employee is expected to make a full recovery, and Perez has been charged with attempted murder and denied bond.

Reduxx, an alternative feminist media outlet, “has confirmed with the Greenville County Sherrif’s Department that Perez has been recorded as a male.” (Reduxx previously reported that “a transgender serial killer was allowed to stay at the women’s section of a homeless shelter in New York City despite the discomfort of staff and residents.”) A spokesperson for Shepherd’s Gate assured the press that they would work to ensure that a similar situation will not happen again.

One might argue that a women’s shelter employee being stabbed so viciously by a trans-identifying male that her organs were exposed is merely a local story, and that no national coverage was warranted. But the media sets the narrative by deciding which stories merit national attention – and they select only stories that buttress the trans activist narrative that a “trans genocide” is underway. That narrative is false – I highly recommend reading Madison Smith’s debunking of this activist lie, “Neither marginalised, abused nor vulnerable,” in The Critic. But skimming the mainstream press will give you quite a different picture of what is going on, and that is deliberate.

On August 10, CNN reported: “A transgender woman was found killed in a West Baltimore alley, prompting demands for answers and justice.” Despite the fact that the police are reporting no known motive, the press is faithfully reporting the baseless assertions that “transphobia” played a role. As the LGBT non-profit organization Baltimore Safe Haven told CNN:

The tragic death of Tai serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing violence faced by the transgender community. Community advocates are calling for justice and transparency in the investigation, as they believe that many transgender murder cases go unsolved due to issues related to gender identity. They are urging law enforcement to prioritize solving these crimes and ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

In short, transgender activism has nothing to do with violent, trans-identifying predators accessing women’s shelters and perpetrating rape, assault, and attempted murder (Reduxx has an entire laundry list of such incidents on their website; I have reported many of them in this space, as well). But “transphobia” has everything to do with the murder of a trans-identifying person in Baltimore, despite there being no evidence to support that conclusion.

The message media consumers are supposed to absorb from this is simple: the transgender narrative is true, and good people believe it. Those pointing out the mountain of evidence to the contrary are bigots, and they should be ignored.

Women and girls, of course, pay the price. But if they wanted people to care about their rights, perhaps they should have done the smart thing and identified as trans.
