Help vulnerable Afghanis with food, safe shelter, and supplies: LifeFunder

(LifeSiteNews) — Joining me on today’s episode of The John-Henry Westen Show is Jason Jones, our emcee at LifeSite’s 25th Anniversary Gala and a familiar face to many of you.

Today, August 30, marks the one-year anniversary of President Joe Biden’s complete withdrawal from Afghanistan. The United States’ hasty exit from the country over a two-week period may have ended the two-decade-long war, but it also enabled the radical Islamist Taliban to retake full control — the very same people the U.S. had been fighting over those two decades.

“The Biden administration not only inflicted an injustice on the people of Afghanistan, all those veterans who sacrificed years of their lives, and many gave the ultimate sacrifice: all of that was just spit on by the Biden administration,” Jones says. “And then now countless Christians and friends and allies of ours are living in hiding. And many have already been killed.”

Afghanistan is reeling from economic devastation, widespread hunger, and persecution of its Christian population just one year into the Taliban’s rule. Jones is trying to help suffering Afghanis through his Vulnerable People Project, which he also spoke about at our 25th Anniversary Gala.

Jones sings the praises of LifeFunder and all the readers who have donated through the platform.

“Thanks to LifeFunder, we were able to keep 30,000 people alive through the winter with their only source of food and heat,” he says. “These were Christians and other minorities that were extremely vulnerable. This also included American citizens that were in hiding. We were able to get the last American citizens on our list out shortly before Christmas. The funds to do that had also come from LifeFunder.”

With the ever-worsening situation in Afghanistan, however, Jones is appealing for more help.

“We have the brutal winter that’s going to be bearing down upon us, with food shortages across the globe for many reasons, and those Afghan Christians and Hazaras are looking at famine,” he says. “And right now, 95% of Afghanistan is in hunger. This summer, already in the summer, 50% of Afghanistan is facing severe hunger. So we’re anticipating millions of Afghans dying this winter.”

To help Afghanis suffering under persecution, hunger, and poverty, click here to go to LifeFunder to send a secure donation to The Vulnerable People Project’s Extra Mile program. By donating, you will help thousands more vulnerable Afghanis with food and shelter, particularly religious and ethnic minorities, as well as women and children.
