Is pornography harmless? More and more evidence indicates that, far from being harmless, porn acts like a drug on the brain, as powerful and addictive in nature as drugs like cocaine: and as destructive.

More and more attention has been paid recently to the effect of pornography on the adolescent brain, and what we are finding out isn’t good. Kudos to ABC News for highlighting this massive, but largely ignored problem.

Sadly, it is probably true what one of the psychologist’s interviewed said: that we are only seeing the “tip of the iceberg” so far, and that as this smartphone, internet-at-their-fingertips generation grows up, we will only see the problem increase. What’s the solution? That’s a blog for another time.
