‘The shame is unbearable’

I received this email today. May it help others, as the dear author hopes… As I’ve read your tweets and your blog, I silently repeat, “Thank you God for this woman’s courage.” Only one person knows my entire story and that is my current husband. I confessed to him a few years ago when I felt the Holy Spirit rising up inside me to let someone know. I had to tell someone I could trust. With abortion, it’s hard to know who you can trust. The shame is unbearable. During a particular church service, our pastor had us take a […]

DAY 8: Great media coverage!

Local media outlets have been all over 40 Days for Life campaigns since we kicked off in 247 cities just last Wednesday … … and we’ve seen great — and positive — coverage of YOUR campaigns! Here are just a few examples: ——————————————————- LANSING, MICHIGAN ——————————————————- Chris Veneklase of the 40 Days for Life team in Lansing had an opportunity to talk about the campaign on Tony Conley’s morning program on WILS-AM. It’s a secular station that also features nationally syndicated hosts such as Laura Ingraham. Things got very personal – and quite moving – when it came to a […]

Undercover at the Feminist’s Majority Foundation conference part 1: ‘It’s not about abortion’

This weekend, I attended the Feminist Majority Foundation’s National Young Leaders Conference (FMF), and why not? I’m a 21st Century Feminist, right? Or so I thought… On Saturday, I had an eye-opening experience learning what 21st century feminism means to the FMF and the “revolution” they are trying to sustain and make permanent in American society. The general session I attended talked about the about the current “war on women” and the “dangerous” bills that are in Congress like HR-3, the No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act, or as they call it, “Stupak on Steroids,” and HR-358, Congressman Pitt’s “Protect […]

Idaho senate passes ban on assisted suicide

The Idaho Senate voted Friday 31-2 to pass SB 1070, a ban on physician assisted suicide that is based on the AUL model bill. AUL State Director Christ Troupis and Idaho Chooses Life Executive Director David Ripley were instrumental in promoting the bill’s passage. Senator Russ Fulcher led the debate on the floor where he discussed that the legislation would maintain current medical practice in the state and clarify existing common law on the subject. In recent months, we have become aware that Compassion & Choices, formerly the Hemlock Society, has a person working in the state who is reportedly […]

Idaho Senate passes bill clarifying that assisted suicide is illegal

An article in the Idaho Statesman reported last Friday on the vote on the Idaho Senate on bill SB 1070, the bill that clarifies in the Idaho criminal code that assisted suicide is illegal. Bill SB 1070 passed by a vote of 31 to 2 in the Idaho Senate. My previous article reported that SB 1070 was unanimously supported in the Idaho Senate Affairs committee. The article stated: After a sober and emotional debate, the Idaho Senate on Friday passed a bill making assisted suicide a felony punishable by 5 years in prison on a 31 – 2 vote Friday. […]

We must be willing to suffer the consequences of being pro-life

An 11-year old girl who is a supporter of Priests for Life sent me the following email very recently: “My mother and I are taking a bus and will be coming to the March for Life. My teacher said that I will receive zeroes on any work that I miss and it can’t be made up. I told her missing a day at school in order to stand up for life is more important and I’m willing to suffer the consequences.” That’s what the pro-life movement needs most – people who say, “I’m willing to suffer the consequences.” The children […]

DAY 6: 35 babies saved from abortion already!

When people hear about babies saved from abortion, it motivates them to trust God — and participate in 40 Days for Life. After all, how often do you have an opportunity to literally help save a life just by peacefully praying? It’s already happened in this campaign … … 35 times (that we know of)! Here are just a few of the miracles that God has already granted. ——————————————————- ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ——————————————————- Prayer volunteers at the 40 Days for Life vigil in Orange County were caught by surprise as the doors of the abortion center flew open and a […]

DAY 3: Babies saved already!

This is the first report of babies saved so far during this 40 Days for Life campaign. I know we are ONLY THREE DAYS into the campaign, but God has no time limit on working miracles — here are just a few: ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS On Wednesday, the first day of the 40 Days for Life campaign, a young woman pulled into the abortion center’s parking lot. “She and a friend sat in their car for over 20 minutes,” wrote James. “The young mother kept looking over at the pro-lifers praying.” She would look at the sign with a picture of […]

DAY 2: We’re off and running!

Just two days into the largest 40 Days for Life campaign ever and we’ve seen record crowds at kickoff events across the United States — and beyond! A posting in the 40 Days for Life blog by Nancy really says it all: “Prayers are the best weapon we have to fight the evil of abortion.” Amen!!! VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA I just got back from a GREAT 40 Days for Life kickoff rally in Virginia Beach, Virginia. They held their event in front of the Planned Parenthood facility, which is getting ready to expand its abortion capabilities. Please keep the Virginia […]
