Guttmacher study shows success in swing states

Earlier this month, the Guttmacher Institute released its 2013 state-policy review. The report indicates that pro-lifers continue to make very good legislative progress at the state level. In 2013, 70 state-level pro-life measures were enacted — making 2013 the second most productive year on record. The report specifically cites Texas, North Dakota, North Carolina, and Arkansas as being especially active in passing pro-life laws. Overall, according to Guttmacher, there have been more pro-life laws passed between 2011 and 2013 than in the entire previous decade. Guttmacher places each state into one of three categories based on the number of pro-life laws […]

Networks covered baby panda 6X more than March for Life

Is it too much to ask for Americans to get their news from serious adults? Yes, there’s always been bias in media reporting, but it’s hard to imagine journalists who once crossed Europe with Patton cooing “Pandas are magic” into the camera while a real story of genocide is being told in the streets.  But that’s where we are. On Wednesday, hundreds of thousands braved freezing temperatures to join the 41st annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. to protest and commemorate the 55 million human babies who have been legally killed since 1973’s Roe v. Wade decision. The event featured speeches from […]

Why they marched, in their own words: Cool video from M4L 2014

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 24, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Americans who believe in the right to life rarely get to present their motivation, their beliefs, or their personality in their own words. The media brand them as “anti-abortion,” or “anti-choice,” selecting the least representative figures and carefully editing their quotations to fit a preconceived narrative that pro-lifers are zealots, fanatics, and extremists. But pro-life Americans have had a surprising number of opportunities to speak for themselves recently – from Lila Rose's appearance on Crossfire to the video below, produced by the Heritage Foundation. Heritage did what real journalists used to […]

USA Today: Obama’s contraception mandate ‘foolish,’ ‘suspect’

At least one government watchdog is learning to bark again. USA Today’s Opinion section dedicated “Today’s Debate” to religious freedom – or the fight over Obamacare’s contraception mandate. In a January 13 piece entitled, “Obamacare Overreach Tramples Little Sisters of the Poor,” USA Today rebelled against its own (media) kind to call out the Obama administration for having “picked a fight with Catholics and other religious groups.” Among other faults, the article found the administration’s “position” on the mandate “constitutionally suspect, politically foolish and ultimately unproductive.” The Supreme Court recently consented to hear appeals challenging the contraception mandate, which would force employers to provide or consent […]

Planned Parenthood: It pays to be a big fat zero

What do you get when you fail to meet stated annual goals, reduce unhealthy outcomes, yet increase the number of deaths of human beings? Rewarded. Yes, Planned Parenthood gets rewarded with taxpayer-funded welfare each year for failing. Despite their Healthy People goals set in states across the country and federally with the CDC (e.g. Healthy People 2010, Healthy People 2020) and grossly missing the mark every single time, they get rewarded. They don’t have to show progress or success in addressing any so-called “healthcare disparity”. They’re accountable to no one and to nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Sometimes it pays to […]
