POPULATION CONTROL FORUM IN HALIFAX

HALIFAX, NS, Nov 4 (LSN) On November 9, 1998, a forum will be held in Dalhousie University to discuss the United Nations vision of population control and its necessary allies of abortion, abortifacient contraception and sterilization. The meeting, sponsored by Action Canada for Population and Development (ACPD), the Coady Institute, the Sierra Club of Canada, Chebucto Group and the Faculty of Health Professions, Dalhousie University, will bring together “experts” in the fields of “population and sustainable development” and “reproductive health and rights.” Participants will discuss the Program of Action developed at the International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo in 1994.

According to a pro-life leader in Nova Scotia, the forum is one of 5 scheduled by ACPD across Canada over the next two months designed to culminate in a position paper full of recommendations to guide Canadian policy. The public is invited to attend an evening session to “express their views.” Pro-life members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting to participate. It takes place on Monday November 9, 1998, 7:30-9:00 pm at the Dalhousie University Club.
