CONDOM-RESISTANT HPV IS LEADING STD IN AMERICA

Causes 90% of cervical cancer, number two cause of women’s cancer deaths

CHICAGO, Aug 4 (LSN.ca) – Hal Wallis, M.D. of the Consortium of State Physician Resource Councils, wrote in the Chicago Tribune July 28 that “HPV (Human Papillomavirus) is now by far the leading sexually transmitted infection in America with an estimated 75 percent of the population between ages 15 and 49 having been infected.” Dr. Wallis was responding to an article downplaying the seriousness of HPV.

HPV is the cause of over 90 per cent of all cervical cancer, the number two cause of cancer deaths among women, however the virus is virtually unknown. The reason lies in the fact that as Dr. Wallis says, “condoms provide little if any protection.” In a report on HPV Health Canada confirms that “barrier contraceptives, which have been successful in reducing transmission of many sexually transmitted diseases, do not appear to be effective in preventing HPV infection.” Given that abstinence is the only way to avoid HPV, condom promoters such as Planned Parenthood and other so-called family planning groups have all but ignored the disease.

Dr. Wallis says further that “The infection is especially prominent for those under age 25, who by both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Planned Parenthood’s statistics have been faithful in heeding the condom message.” He concludes, “No one among safe-sex educators wants to give the message that condoms are ineffective against some STDs; however, it is time for those who have so forcefully taught the condom message to be honest about what condoms do not do.”

FORCED GENITAL EXAMS OF SCHOOL CHILDREN – PARENTS UNAWARE

TULSA, Oklahoma, Aug 4 (LSN.ca) – Nurses from the Head Start program have entered at least two elementary schools in Tulsa Oklahoma and forced children between three and five years of age to endure genital exams without prior parental consent or notification. In a harrowing report the Asheville Tribune reports that the nurses forcibly removed the children’s clothes on desktops in front of their classmates and ignored their cries, screams and protests. Teachers were not allowed in the room to comfort the children.

The paper notes that the genital exams and blood samples were undertaken to search for signs of child abuse or other health problems. The newspaper also states however, that “there is no evidence that sexual abuse is so widespread that it justifies activities such as these that, in truth, amount to government-sponsored sexual abuse.” Medical and psychological experts say that it will take a minimum of five years for the children to recover from this event, if they do ever do so fully. Thirteen families have now filed a lawsuit against Head Start, the nurses involved, the county health department and the school district.

NEW ZEALAND SCHOOLS TAKE MINORS TO ABORTION – NO PARENTAL NOTIFICATION

TARANAKI, New Zealand, Aug 4 (LSN.ca) – The mother of a 15-year-old Linwood High School student only learned of her daughter’s abortion when she received a hospital receipt in the mail. When the mother complained that the school had taken her daughter to an abortuary and had her grandchild aborted while the mother believed her child to be in school, legal experts revealed the law allows schools to participate in secret abortions for minors at any age.

The New Zealand Guardianship Act holds up abortion as a special right for women, even young girls. Section 25a of the act says a female child of whatever age may give her consent or refusal to abortion as if she were an adult. Lawyer Jane Roseveare described it as “a major exception to the general rule that parental consent was needed for medical treatment for children under the age of 16.”

Pro-Life Views author Christina Dunigan at About.com writes that after the revelation another woman from the same are came forward to reveal an abortion on her daughter. This 1997 abortion saw the school making arrangements for transportation, general anesthesia, the abortion, and follow-up, all done during school time that the mother thought was being spent in the classroom.

***LifeSite would be interested in hearing from anyone with information on similar occurrences in Canada. In Ontario, for example, the supposedly “conservative” Mike Harris government strongly defends its legislation denying parents control over health care provided to their children. Ontario school authorities and health care providers are not required to consult parents or even advise them of any health care “services” given their children if it is deemed that the children are capable of making their own health care decisions.

LARGE MAJORITY OF CANADIANS WANT MONEY FOR PARENTS,NOT DAYCARE

75% Of Canadians Say “Family Life Is Today Is In Crisis”

TORONTO, Aug 4 (LSN.ca) – In a nation-wide survey conducted last month to track Canadians’ views on the state of family life , COMPAS found an intensified concern about the state of family life. Today, 75% of Canadians believe that “family life today is in crisis,” up from 61% two and a half years ago (December, 1997), said a report released Monday.

The study, commissioned by the Calgary and Toronto-based National Foundation for Family Research and Education, found that by huge margins Canadians want all childcare subsidies to be directed to parents themselves to decide the best child care arrangements for their offspring. In December, 1997, advocates of funds to parents outnumbered by more than 2:1 advocates of funds to daycare only. Today, the ratio in favour of parental subsidies has nearly doubled–to almost 4:1. Conrad Winn, one of Compas’ principal investigators, told LifeSite that at least three other polls in the past two years have also confirmed that Canadians want government action to put money in the hands of parents rather than being transferred to daycare institutions.

The poll shows that women are especially concerned about the state of the family. Canadian men and women alike believe today, as they did in December, 1997, that not enough family time and strained financial resources are serious threats to the quality of family life.

STATE OF THE WORLD FORUM TO CONVENE WITH MILLENNIUM SUMMIT

NEW YORK, Aug 4 (LSN.ca) – The 2000 edition of the infamous State of the World Forum (SWF) will be held in New York September 4 through 10, timed to coincide with the United Nations Millennium Summit. The SWF, a highly controversial gathering of world political, business and new age religious leaders which proposed in 1996 a 90% reduction in the world’s population and in 1998 slammed the pope for his pro-life views, is convened by Mikhail Gorbachev. The SWF is hoping for a joint meeting of its gathering with the more than 100 Heads of State attending the Millennium Summit – the largest gathering of government leaders in modern history.

Despite the sometimes-blatant attempts to promote extremely controversial one-world government (global governance) and one-world religion (united religions initiative), the SWF still attracts numerous major personalities. This year’s forum boasts speakers Colin Powell, Jordan’s Queen Noor, and major UN leaders such as UNFPA’s Nafis Sadik, UNICEF’s Carol Bellamy and UNIFEM’s Noeleen Heyzer. In addition to the speakers many other prominent individuals such as Bill Gates, former Canadian PM Brian Mulroney, and former U.S. president George Bush have attended the conferences.

Catholic World News reports today that after meeting the Apostolic Nuncio in Argentina, Argentine President Fernando De la Rua said he is opposed to abortion and that such a stand will be kept at international forums such as the UN. Doubts regarding De la Rua’s stand came during the “Beijing +5” UN summit held in New York in June, when the Argentine delegation, for the first time in 10 years, did not take an outspoken pro-life stand.
