Cleveland, Ohio, November 7, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – On November 1, 2012, an ambulance rushed a late-term abortion patient to the hospital for the second time in less than five weeks from the Abortion Access Center for Women’s Health, an abortion clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, operated by Martin Ruddock.

Records obtained by Operation Rescue, including a 911 recording and Computer Aided Dispatch Transcript, show that a 30-year-old woman suffered lacerations and heavy bleeding after a botched abortion at 22 weeks. The caller indicated the woman was “bleeding bad” and passing large blood clots larger than a 50-cent piece.

“Americans are largely unaware of the abortion crisis that faces our nation. While politicians discuss red-herring issues such as whether abortion clinics offer mammograms, shoddy abortion mills are hurting and killing women with alarming regularity, and the average man-on-the-street has no idea this is happening,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue and Pro-Life Nation.

“When medical boards and health departments do find out about these seedy back-alley-style abortion operations, often the clinics are closed and the abortionists’ licenses are suspended or revoked. Until the media and our political leaders, both liberal and conservative, start to discuss the hidden scandal of rampant abortion injuries and deaths at abortion clinics — some of which receive millions of dollars in public funding — we can only expect to see more incidents like this one.”

Ruddock was photographed on September 29, 2012, escorting another of his patients to an ambulance. That incident involved a 26-year old second-trimester abortion patient who suffered from a high fever and disorientation. During that 911 call, which Ruddock place himself, he was heard responding brusquely to the dispatcher who was trying to ask questions about the patient’s condition. “Ma’am, I’m a surgeon,” Ruddock snapped.

The most recent 911 call was placed by one of Ruddock’s clinic workers. Pro-life activists on the scene were unable to photograph the incident. However, the 911 records documented details of the incident.

“Ruddock is either ill-equipped to handle the emergencies that arise from risky late-term abortions, or he is incompetent to do them. In any case, women are being placed at grave risk when they walk into Ruddock’s abortion mill,” said Newman. “His Cleveland ‘house of horrors’ presents a danger to the public and we ask that the authorities in Ohio take immediate action to close Ruddock’s abortion clinic in the interest of public safety.”

Ruddock has a history of botched abortions. In 2003, Ruddock called 911 to report that an “obese” second trimester abortion patient was bleeding profusely. “I just can’t stop the bleeding. I can’t see what I’m doing and I want her out of here,” Ruddock said.

In December, 2004, Ruddock violated the standard of care when he hurt another patient during an abortion, according to a suit brought by the injured woman.
