OTTAWA, May 7, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) – This week Canadians mark the May 14, 1969 passage of the Liberal government’s Omnibus Bill that propelled Canada down the road to abortion on demand and over 3 million killed unborn babies. The 10th annual March For Life is expected to be the largest yet followed by a record attendance of 1000 at the sold out Rose Dinner after the March. Another record of over 600 youth are registered for the Friday Youth Conference.

March organizers have been preparing over the last year for this premier national pro-life event to urge Parliamentarians to restore legal protection for the unborn child. A good number of pro-life MPs are once again expected to each briefly address the crowd assembled on Parliament Hill (see list of MPs present last year – https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2006/jun/06063015.html)
before the beginning of the actual march through the streets of Ottawa. March organizers report that the trend of increasing numbers of youth at the march is definitely continuing this year with more busloads than ever reported to be coming.
Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life USA will give the homily at the Catholic mass on Thursday morning before the march. Fr. Pavone will also walk in the march and speak at the Friday Youth Conference.
Headlining both the Thursday evening Rose Dinner and the Youth Conference will be the star and producer of the soon to be released, life-affirming movie, Bella. The movie is promoted as “a heartwarming story about life, relationships and our capacity for love in the face of the unexpected.”
Eduardo Verastegui, who plays a lead role in the Hollywood quality production and co-producer Leo Severino will discuss Bella. They will also relate the personal journeys that led them to start their Metanoia Film company “To create meaningful films that inspire the world and make a positive impact.” Both have played major roles in an entertainment industry they are now committed to change for the better.
The Rose Dinner and Youth Conference will take place at the newly constructed Hampton Inn this year allowing for larger attendance. Although the Dinner has been sold out for over two weeks the youth conference can still accommodate another 400 youth attendees above its current record of over so far 600 registered participants.
Also speaking at the Youth Conference will be Stephanie Gray of the Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform. Gray is acknowledged as one of Canada’s most knowledgeable, captivating and inspiring speakers on the life issues. Another featured speaker, Fayten Kryskow of 4MyCanada, has been leading many youth to pray and follow through with political actions to transform Canada back to it Christian principles.
