NEW YORK, Sept 30 (LSN) – Over 3,000 Christians staged a rally in New York City on Saturday to protest a blasphemous play depicting Jesus as a homosexual, reported the Conservative News Service (CNS) yesterday.  The Manhattan Theatre Club is performing “Corpus Christi” a play by gay-activist and acclaimed playwright Terrance McNally. The play portrays Christ as having sex with his apostles.  Martin Moyer, the director of the Christian Action Network told CNS that the National Endowment for the Arts gave the Manhattan Theater Club $125,000 (US) this year. “We came here today to basically bring light to the fact that American tax dollars are being used to produce plays of this nature,” he said. CNS quoted Raymond Drake, President of the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP)  as saying, “We’re here to protest in a legal and a peaceful way the vile portrayal of Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Apostles as homosexuals who engage in sexual relations in the play.”“Christian hating and religion hating is part and parcel of the militant homosexual movement,” said Steve Schwalm of the Family Research Council.
