JASPER, Alabama (LifeSiteNews) — A singer who once appeared as a contestant on American Idol has died suddenly after suffering an “apparent heart attack.”
TMZ reports that CJ Harris, who appeared on the famous singing competition show and finished sixth in 2014, died from an “apparent heart attack” on Sunday, according to a family member. He was 31 years old and a father of two children.
Although Harris was rushed to a local hospital by ambulance, he was pronounced dead not long after arriving, which was just 13 days before his 32nd birthday. Variety reports that the Walker County Coroner’s Office in Jasper, Alabama, confirmed his death but did not provide details about the circumstances.

In his own words, Harris sought to blend elements of “country, blues, soul, and Southern rock” in his music. He released his debut single in 2019.
