OTTAWA, November 14, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Canada’s liberal media and governing Liberals have greatly influenced the general population if the attitude of Canadians toward US President George W. Bush and America is any indication. Incredibly, 38% of Canadians consider Bush more dangerous to world security than terrorist Osama Bin Laden, according to the latest poll, while 32 % also said they “dislike” Americans in general.

The poll, conducted by Innovative Research Group for the Dominion Institute and the Canadian Defence Foreign Affairs Institute surveyed 1,016 randomly selected Canadians, as reported by the National Post. Forty-six percent of Canadians said they had a “very unfavourable” impression of Bush. In addition, only 5% of Canadians said they had a “very favourable” impression of Bush.

Anti-Americanism is an ongoing source of national embarrassment for Canadians – pro-abortion MP Carolyn Parrish embarrassed many Canadians in 2003 with her bigoted remarks against citizens of the US. At the end of a press interview, Parrish, a former Liberal, was caught saying “Damn Americans . . . I hate those bastards.”

After Bush’s re-election last year, Parrish said she was ‘dumbfounded’ that Bush won, claiming the win was a “reflection of the profound psychological damage of 9/11”, implying only psychologically damaged people would vote for someone such as Bush. Parrish was only kicked out of the Liberal caucus after a third stunt when she publicly stomped on a Bush doll last December.

In an address to the Conservative Caucus in September, party leader Stephen Harper warned that “This [Liberal] government’s lack of competence and vision in the Canada-U.S. relationship has led Canada to lose influence and relevance with our most important trading partner. Now, we are threatened with having to have a passport to cross the border by 2008.”
