MADRID, Nov 23 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Zenit News reported yesterday that the latest report by the Spanish Ministry of Health indicates that the number of adolescent Spanish girls (under 19) who aborted their babies has increased 60% since 1990. Zenit notes that the increase has resulted despite a government campaign against AIDS encouraging youth to use condoms.

The report also notes that the number of abortuaries rose from 81 in 1990 to 115 in 1997.  While Spanish law forbids abortion except in the cases of the mother’s health, fetal malformation, and rape, over 95% of abortions are claimed for maternal health – a category abused by many of the private abortion mills to allow abortion on demand.
