(LifeSiteNews) – Liberal feminist writer Naomi Wolf highlighted the “extraordinary” medical freedom protests happening around the world on Tucker Carlson Tonight on November 23.
“It should be front-page news on all the major news outlets and it just isn’t,” Wolf said. “Europe is just up in arms. There’s draconian lockdowns being enacted in Austria – they are trying to lock unvaccinated people into their homes. In Australia, they’re taking people to mandatory quarantine camps and threatening … even more draconian measures. Germany is indicating it’s gonna follow suit.”
“You know, we’ve certainly seen bad outcomes when totalitarianism takes hold in that part of Europe in the past,” she quipped.
Austria recently announced all citizens will soon face compulsory vaccination. People who refuse to comply with Austria’s February 2022 mandate could face a fine of up to 3,600 Euros (roughly $4,000) or a four-week prison sentence, if numbers found in a draft bill for health professionals are applied to the entire population. A fine of up to 1,450 euros (roughly $1,600 USD) or a prison sentence of four weeks could also be applied to those who fail to receive booster shots.
“And Europeans are not having it,” Wolf explained. “In Italy, in Greece, in France – across Europe there are massive, massive protests. There’s been some violence aimed at protesters in the Netherlands, but tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of Europeans are up in arms, saying, you know, we are a free nation – a free continent – we are a free people and we will not allow these tyrannical measures to be enforced against us.”

“As we’ve seen in history, when protests have a violent response from the police … that can end [or] break the back of a protest movement,” Wolf said. “Europe is saying no. In many countries, the police and others are supporting the protesters, supporting liberty and the rule of law, but it’s a very fragile time, it’s a very scary time.”
“That seems like a huge story – and again, we’re only getting bits and pieces, fragments of it,” Carlson said.
Americans are pushing back against aggressive vaccine mandates, too, Wolf continued. “Truckers are walking off the job, pilots are grounding flights, they said no – unions are standing up and saying no – and dozens and dozens of lawsuits have been filed.”
“When you step back, I think you’ve gotta notice that there’s a bigger picture here,” Wolf said. “Never in my lifetime did I imagine that a president would first declare there would be no [vaccine] mandates – President Biden said that to us. [And] Dr. Fauci said it. Then, you know, guess what, he didn’t mean it. In September, he said there would be forced vaccination with an experimental substance, right? – the clinical trials are not over until 2023 – into people who don’t want it.”
This includes “people who have religious objections, people who have health conditions, people who have natural immunity already. And not only am I seeing the president say, ‘I’m going to go ahead and force people to be injected against their will,’ but he’s also doing it in an un-American way. He’s ignoring two courts that have ruled that … he must stay in his hand and he’s going around them.”
“And he’s using OSHA, which is not a law,” she added, referring to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration through which Biden is attempting to force all Americans who work for companies with 100 employees or more to be jabbed or face a strict weekly testing and mask regime.
“Talk about an attack on democracy,” Carlson said. “It is a tyrant’s move.”
