GUANGZHOU, China, January 3, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A doctor from a Disease Prevention and Control Center in the Chinese mega city of Guangzhou has said that 90 percent of all new HIV/AIDS cases among local university or college students are due to homosexual behavior.

Dr. Xu Huifang said that MSM activity is the underlying factor in the majority of students reporting new infections, reported Xinhua.

Huifang said the city has reported a total of 117 HIV/AIDS cases in 48 local colleges or universities since 2002. But director of the disease prevention center Wang Ming thinks the numbers are inaccurate since many infected college students do not get tested.

“Therefore, the real number [of HIV/AIDS cases] may be much bigger,” he said.

Dr. He Haolan, who monitors contagious diseases at Guangdong No. 8 People's Hospital, said she has noticed increasing rates of HIV among college students.

“It used to be very rare to see a college student come here for HIV tests, but it has become common in the past two years,” she said.

Dr. Huifang blames the increasing disease rates on increasing exposure in young people to sex and a lack of self-control in the heat-of-the-moment to use prophylactics.

A recent survey in Guangzhou of 61 homosexual men showed that numerous sexual partners could be a contributing factor in the spread of HIV/AIDS. Many in the survey admitted to multiple sexual partners while 13 percent admitted to having more than 21 partners, reported Xinhua.

According to the survey, about half of the homosexuals did not use condoms.

About one-third of the group knew they were HIV-positive and still did not use condoms.

“Bug chasing” may be partly responsible for skyrocketing rates of HIV/AIDS among homosexuals witnessed across the globe, where homosexual men desperate to find a new sexual high deliberately seek the deadly HIV virus from infected men. The practice has been documented since 1999.

“Bug chasing” or “gift-giving” has been called by its defenders the “ultimate taboo, the most extreme sex act left on the planet.”

“While the rest of the world fights the AIDS epidemic and most people fear HIV infection, this subculture celebrates the virus and eroticizes it. HIV-infected semen is treated like liquid gold,” wrote Gregory Freeman for a 2003 Rolling Stone article.
