BOCA RATON, FL, September 21, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Where do the souls of aborted babies go? In a poignant new song, 26-year-old pro-life and pro-family rap artist Joe Pots suggests that a guardian angel leads the “unborn angel” to the throne of God.

“Don’t worry little baby, I’ll take you by the hand, / I’ll free you from the pain and I’ll guide you to the lamb,” raps Pots in his song Unborn Angels, which will be available from itunes this weekend.

Joe Pots, a Catholic husband and father of three young children, told LifeSiteNews.com that he paints residential houses with his father for a living. But while Pots moves the rollers up and down on the walls, he comes up with pulsing words that express his Christian convictions. During his 15-minute breaks, he jots down his musical ideas.

Pots has not always been enthusiastic about spreading God’s truth through music. It was only 6 months ago that the young man was experiencing a time of darkness in his life.

“I had a lot of energy that I used towards negative things,” said Pots to LSN.

At this time, a priest encouraged Pots to find a positive outlet for his pent-up energy. Pots related how he went on YouTube one day, keyed “Christian rapper” and was inspired by what came up in the search result.

“I grew up thinking Christian rappers were kind of nerdy and that they didn’t have much rhythm, but I was so surprised by what I found. I said, ‘Man, maybe this is what I’m called to do.’”

Pots began writing songs about what he thought the important issues are that the world needs to hear about. And as he did, his childhood memory of his mom taking him every Friday to pray the Rosary in front of an abortion facility suddenly recurred to him.

Pots explained that as a child, he knew something wrong was going on at the facility. He also knew that he was there with his mother to try to make things right.

“As I grew up, this seed of being pro-life was instilled in me by my Mom.”

“I love you no matter what you call me, / a money-pit yeah, that mistake will be costly / And I know that I’m just the product of a rape. / I know that I’m the victim of a drug case, / but it still doesn’t change the fact that I’m made, / I’m as alive as you were at this pregnancy stage,” sings Pots in Unborn Angels.

Pots says his new song was inspired by his concern for mothers who become pregnant in difficult situations. He hopes that the song will inspire them towards life-affirming options such as adoption.

“I have always known that the little baby inside a mother’s womb is the most precious and most special gift that God has given to us and we need to protect them,” said Pots.

“Even the horrible, horrible, horrible act of rape does not change the fact that the sperm has hit the egg and a baby is conceived. It’s a horrible situation, but this does not change the fact that there is a little baby inside.”

Pots raps about God’s mercy for mothers who make the wrong choice. The most important thing for these mothers to know, he says, is that “there is redemption from Jesus.”

“We all make mistakes, everything will be alright. / God has mercy on us, there is no reason to cry. / This life will pass you quicker than you can blink an eye, / soon you’ll be together with that precious little guy,” raps Pots.

Pots says he would like young people to know the truth about human life in a mother’s womb, but also says he knows that he is not meant to be a public speaker. He says he sees rap as a unique medium for getting a message out because of the number of words that an artist can craft into the song.

Pots hopes people will come away with an appreciation for the miracle of life after listening to his new song.

“I want to shed some light on how precious a baby is in the mother’s womb…how real it is, and how important it is.”

“A baby is as real as it gets.”
