VANCOUVER, June 11 (Lifesitenews.com) – Abortionist turned pro-life activist Bernard Nathanson spoke at an Alberta Pro-Life banquet in May warning his listeners about the serious risks associated with today’s level of interest in new reproductive technologies. Citing the current work of various researchers, Nathanson explained the possibility of parenting a child with the help of a dead female foetus and a mouse.

Writer Marnie Ko of Alberta Report explains in the latest issue of the newsmagazine that “the technology now exists to harvest human eggs from aborted foetuses, fertilize them with sperm in a test tube, and gestate them in a surrogate mother’s womb. Meanwhile, an Australian reproductive biologist is on the cusp of creating genetically-altered mice that will act as surrogate testicles for the production of human sperm.”

Ko does a masterful job of presenting an overview of the Orwellian world of NRTs, while at the same time pointing out the ethical quandaries that result. Ko notes that scientists in Japan are very close to creating an artificial womb, which would be able to sustain the life of premature babies, but also raises the specter of babies conceived, gestated and born by artificial means.
