February 1, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – It was cold and then it got colder and then snowy as the march progressed, but spirits were warm. The LifeSiteNews team in Washington did a fabulous job as you can see from the list of 17 original reports listed here written mostly by team members who were right there at many of the events incluiding our constantly updated, extensive list of March For Life related events. There are still a few reports yet to be written.

They observed, interviewed, took hundreds of photos and some video and then wrote and published late into the night. Note that many more photos were added to some of the stories after they were originally published.

John-Henry Westen, Ben Johnson, Patrick Craine, Kirsten Anderson were the main journalists with John Jalsevac and Peter Baklinski filling in on a few stories and doing publishing from home base. My role is usually the main photographer and videographer and overseer of a lot of the work.

Rebekah O’Brien posted live to Facebook and tweeted directly from events – a first ever for LifeSiteNews. Clare Magaad and Jon F who came in from our Front Royal, Virginia office made sure that all our hotel, food, communications and many other needs were met and pitched in on other tasks. Jon was my faithful ladder man for the marathon march photography session. We had to call it quits before the end of the march as our hands, feet and everything else were too frozen and our legs and many other body parts in agony from running around for hours in that cold. But it was a satisfying agony.

John-Henry Westen was a panelist at the Law for Life Summit, received their annual life achievement award and was interviewed on EWTN. Kirsten Anderson was interviewed at length on Canada’s Sun News Network by Brian Lilley and Ben Johnson was interviewed twice on American Family Radio.

It was a grand experience and we met the largest concentration imaginable of the most wonderful, joyful and saintly folks. It was a pro-lifer’s dream series of events and for us a pro-life, pro-family journalist’s bonanza.

Our goal was to serve the international pro-life community with news reporting that this event deserved and which the mainstream media continue to deliberately avoid. I can tell you that the numbers were obviously very large, much larger than last year and certainly 400,000+.

We felt privileged to do this task and hope you enjoyed the coverage and all those photos – more than we have ever posted.

I’ve put together a brief, quick video this evening to give you flavor of what the march itself was like. Keep in mind that this video shows only a tiny portion of the vast march crowd. And the crowd that I pan around the podium is only a portion of the numbers who actually marched up Pennsylvania Ave to the Supreme Court. There were very many thousands more lining the route waiting to join in and many additional thousands who kept coming during and after the speeches were over.

As well, we had Johanna Dasteel on site in both San Diego and San Francisco at those West Coast marches this year and a number of reports were published with plenty of photos for those. Thank you Johanna and our generous contributing photographers!
