WASHINGTON, January 29, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The National Abortion Federation has launched an appeal to its supporters to take action and call the White House to demand that President Barack Obama restore hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for contraception and abortion.  The funding was cut when Obama responded to severe criticism over the discovery of the handouts to support the abortion industry within the $850 billion economy stimulus package.

“We urge you to take action now by calling the White House at 202-456-1111 to express your support for the Medicaid Family Planning State Option,” said the NAF email to supporters.

“Just tell the White House switchboard operator that you have a comment about the economic stimulus plan, and you’ll be transferred to a White House staff member. Then give your name and express your disappointment that affordable family planning has been removed from the latest stimulus package, and your support for the Medicaid Family Planning State Option. Be sure to thank the staff member for passing along your message.”
