FREDERICKSBURG, Virginia, October 31, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) — Several pro-life chalk messages at various universities have been vandalized recently by angry students defending abortion.
Students for Life of America sponsors a “National Pro-Life Chalk Day,” where positive messages are drawn on college walkways across the U.S. But students who support abortion refuse to accept a message contrary to their views and have altered displays.
At the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, pro-life messages like “Love Them Both” with a drawing of a pregnant mother and child were erased or changed into “Love Women.”
At Georgetown University, “End Abortion” was changed to “End Hate,” implying that pro-life advocates hate others.
One message was changed to “End Racism.” The College Fix commented that “End Racism … could be seen as confused, given that abortion ends a far higher proportion of black lives than other lives.”
Georgetown Students for Life President Amelia Irvine reacted by saying the group “will continue to emphasize our message of love.”
“Abortion is a social justice issue,” Irvine stated, “and we hope that we can find common ground with those with whom we disagree.”
The University of Mary Washington vandals were caught on camera. In the following video, Students for Life of America’s Capital Area Regional Coordinator Lori Cascio talks with them while they erase and deface the chalk messages.
At DePaul University in Chicago, Father Dennis Holtschneider — the president of the Catholic university — banned a poster that read “Unborn Lives Matter,” claiming the message is “bigoted.”
