ALEXANDRIA, Virginia, November 26, 2002 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Local police are investigating the death of a woman while she was undergoing an unspecified “medical procedure” at a local abortuary—but the clinic is disputing the police version of the death.  Police spokesman Amy Bertsch said paramedics were summoned to the Landmark Women’s Center where the 26-year-old woman was in distress on the morning of Nov. 16; she was taken to hospital and died 40 minutes later. A police statement said, “The victim… was undergoing a medical procedure at the Women’s Center when she died.” Bertsch added, “It was a sudden death. When young, otherwise healthy people die, it’s considered a sudden death and we investigate that.” Autopsy results are pending.  When asked about the police report, an anonymous female employee at the clinic stated, “Some of the information you received is incorrect. … I have strict restrictions not to discuss this with you.”  For CNSNews coverage see:  https://www.cnsnews.com/Culture/archive/200211/CUL20021126a.html
