NAIROBI, April 14, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA), the Anglican Church of Kenya, the Methodist, and Catholic Church have come together to denounce foreign aid organizations which attempt to suggest condoms as the way to combat AIDS.  Muslim religious leaders also objected that condoms were for use only within marriage.  Kicking off a government initiative to combat the deadly virus, the churches noted that fighting AIDS with treatment for those afflicted with the disease plus abstinence and chastity were the only ways forward.  The Moderator of the PCEA General Assembly, the Right Rev Dr Jesse Kamau, said: “We shall not teach our people to use the wrong method to fight the enemy. Even if you use four condoms, your life still hangs in the balance.”  See the AllAfrica coverage:  https://allafrica.com/stories/200303300006.html
