EDMONTON, Nov 2 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Alberta government is accepting responsibility for a government run eugenics program which operated from 1928 to 1972 sterilizing 2,800 children who were deemed “mentally defective.” An apology and an $80-million compensation package will be given 230 victims of the program. The National Post reports that last year the government paid out $100,000 to resolve 600 victim’s claims.
