WASHINGTON, May 15, 2001 (LSN.ca) – The American Psychological Association (APA) has set itself up as a pro-abortion lobby group with its recent political “action alert” to reverse the Mexico City Policy banning US funds to groups which promote abortion overseas. Employing the language of pro-abortion activists, the APA called on its members to “contact your U.S. Representative today or tomorrow to enlist his/her support to reverse the ‘global gag rule.’”

LifeSite has obtained a copy of the pro-abortion political activist alert which was distributed to the APA’s pwr-l list by the APA Public Policy Office May 14. Pro-life observers wonder whether pro-life psychologists represented by the APA will speak out against this partisan political activism on the part of their professional organization.
