PARIS, France (LifeSiteNews) —A scant 260 members of the French National Assembly – out of 577 – joined a crucial debate about increasingly totalitarian COVID-19 measures during a night session from Wednesday to Thursday. On the table was the government proposal extending its capacity to prolong the need for the “sanitary pass” until July 31st, 2022, beyond the presidential and legislative elections that will take place in spring next year.

135 members voted for the government bill, which under the title “sanitary surveillance” aims to prolong the “sanitary state of emergency” giving the executive the possibility to lift, prolong, or reimpose sanitary pass requirements at will and use other “tools” such as lockdowns and curfews over the next eight months without parliamentary control. 125 voted against.

In an added twist, a government amendment was also approved, allowing directors of secondary schools to obtain personal information from the public health insurance system about the COVID “vaccine status” of all their students.

French gov’t seeks to extend COVID ‘state of emergency’, vaccine passport until 2022

The government justified such an attack on medical confidentiality in view of “facilitating the organization of screening and vaccination campaigns and to organize teaching conditions so as to prevent the risk of spreading the virus.”

“Vaccinated” individuals can contract and spread the virus.

The bill is expected to be debated by the French Senate as of Thursday. President Macron cannot count on an automatic majority in the higher chamber and voices have been raised in favor of freedom, but the center-right opposition is mainly complaining about the length of the prolongation without parliamentary control, and many senators have already suggested they might adopt the bill if measures come up for approval again by February 2021. Left-wing senators are also showing signs of wanting to resist.

The bill’s first article allowing the government to prolong the sanitary pass was adopted in the lower chamber by 75 votes against 74. It is the slimmest margin yet registered in Parliament regarding COVID measures; this might be a small sign of hope as some members of the presidential “La République en Marche” party appear to be more reluctant than before to blindly to follow the executive. However, the fact that less than half of the National Assembly’s members actually bothered to come to the debate was slammed by commentators who observed that a large proportion of the people’s representatives have washed their hands of such important issues as fundamental freedoms, state meddling with health decisions, and the imposition of an experimental “vaccine” whose serious side-effects are being shamelessly negated by the government.

Health minister Olivier Véran stated on October 15 that “ANSM reports, which are public and transparent, do not at this stage declare any proven case of death attributable to the vaccination.” The ANSM (National Agency for Drug Safety) has received hundreds of reports of deaths in the days or weeks following vaccination, even though the reporting system is notoriously difficult to navigate, but their relevance has been downplayed because, according to the authorities, there is as yet no absolute proof of the link between the jab and the large number of serious adverse events that have already been reported to the authorities.

Véran’s assertion was at least misleading: the minister’s careful choice of words allowed him to brush aside the many adverse events following the COVID jab, whose certain causality has yet to be assessed by the authorities – if it ever is. Dr Peter McCullough, a top cardiologist from Texas, has repeatedly recalled, however, that previous vaccine safety assessments never waited for the causal link to be identified beyond a doubt before stopping a vaccination campaign. In the case of the 1976 swine flu epidemic, such a program was stopped immediately when it became clear that 25 deaths had occurred shortly after the jab for no known reason. Latest VAERS statistics in the US, as shown in openvaers.com’s reader-friendly presentation, show that through October 15, 2021, 17,437 deaths were reported as having taken place after a COVID jab, the majority of which took place within a week.

Nevertheless, as in so many countries all over the world, the French government continues to put pressure on the population to accept the COVID jab while at the same time protesting that the “vaccine” is not mandatory. Further lockdowns, curfews, and other restrictions, comparable to those imposed on the French population since March 2020 under the pretext of fluctuating rules, such as pressure on hospitals, the proportion of positive “cases” (with or without symptoms), and vaccine status, are looming again with the new “sanitary emergency” bill.

The sanitary pass, which requires proof of “full vaccination,” a recent recovery from COVID-19, or a negative PCR or antigen test less than 72 hours old, was made compulsory for all adults on August 9 for leisure, sports, and cultural activities; access to restaurants and cafés; fast and inter-regional trains; and non-emergency care in hospital. It was extended to teenagers aged 12 to 17 at the end of September.

Testing for COVID was entirely free (state-funded) in France until October 15, but since that date the unvaccinated must pay for PCR and antigen tests which cost between 22 and 44 euro (approx. $26 – $51 US), while the cheap self-tests that were authorized until then, if validated by a doctor, nurse or therapist, are now no longer sufficient to obtain a sanitary pass.

The government obtained parliamentary approval for the pass until November 15, and officials have repeatedly assured the public that it has no intention of making the document a fixture. President Emmanuel Macron even stated on September 16 that it would be possible to lift some of the requirements in regions where prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 was extremely low, or even to scrap it altogether in those territories.

But by now the French have become accustomed to the false promises of the executive: Macron himself committed to never making the experimental COVID shot compulsory, and he also promised that the sanitary pass would never be required for everyday activities such as going to a restaurant. Since then, health workers, people who work with the elderly, and first responders have all been submitted to “vaccine” mandates with particularly cruel provisions, and the sanitary pass is now required for all. The pass itself is seen as a vaccine mandate in disguise.

As the government pushes for extra power to prolong the pass – and to reactivate other crippling restrictions – by decree, it is generally felt that it has no intention of scaling down measures any time soon, even though “infections,” hospitalizations, and deaths attributed to COVID-19 are extremely moderate and have been on a continuous downward trend for two months. Instead, as breakthrough infections rise among the fully vaccinated, government officials including spokesman Gabriel Attal has openly suggested that the pass may become invalid for people who do not receive a third dose of the experimental Spike protein injection.

The sanitary pass is being unabashedly used as a weapon to force people to “choose” vaccination in order to go about their daily lives, and not as a means of fighting against COVID infections. The vaccinated can in practice freely use their pass to enter public transport, packed cinemas, and hospitals even if they have COVID symptoms and may in fact be infected with the virus.

At present, according to official numbers, COVID tests are subject to a margin of error of 2 false positives out of every 100 tests. And to date, the proportion of positives has been within that margin since mid-September (1.2 percent on October 17). But all positives are being considered as proof of COVID, which they call “asymptomatic” when evidence of illness is totally lacking.

This has led a brilliant young statistician, Pierre Chaillot, to comment on his Youtube channel that if pregnancy tests had the same margin of error, they could be used to test little boys and come up with two positives for every hundred tests: the little boys would be considered to have an “asymptomatic pregnancy.”
