NEW YORK, Apr 15 (LSN) – Yesterday, a UN-sponsored international conference began in New York to promote global access to “reproductive rights” and “reproductive health” for adolescents. The conference is being organized by the UN’s population control department, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and will promote unfettered access to abortion, contraception, and sex education for adolescents around the world. It will be the first in a series of international events that are part of the “ICPD+5” process—a five-year review of efforts to implement the Cairo population conference’s platform for action.
