VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, July 30 (LSN) – Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore announced yesterday that the federal appeals court has upheld the state’s ban on partial-birth abortion. “Today’s ruling by the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals will save the lives of unborn children and their mothers by upholding the ban on partial birth abortions in Virginia,” Gilmore said. “The law I signed on April 13th is constitutional. I remain confident that further legal attacks will fail and that the law will be upheld as it proceeds through the legal process. Virginians agree that partial birth abortions are inhuman and should never be performed in our Commonwealth.”
