OTTAWA, April 14, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Christian Coalition International Canada Inc. web-site, at: https://ccicinc.org/ includes details and arrangements for attending the April 17 National Liberty Day Rally against Bill C-250, including buses from the Toronto region.  Meanwhile REAL Women of Canada issued an urgent alert today on the impending resumption of debate on Bill C-250 in the Senate on April 20.  The Canadian Women’s organization noted that “It is now apparent that the Liberal government will not call an election before Parliament resumes sitting on Monday, April 20th” since a poll has indicated support for the government has been falling.

REAL Women also reports that “according to evidence presented to the Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs on March 11th, 2004 by Inspector David Jones of the Vancouver Police Force, the major witness for the bill’s sponsor, NDP MP, Svend Robinson, it was acknowledged that Bill C-250 (amendment to the hate propaganda provision in the Criminal Code) was not necessary to protect homosexuals from harm, (there is already protection for wrongful acts against them as well as against all others in the Criminal Code), but is being sought in order to obtain social recognition of homosexuals”.

The organizations stresses that “We must continue to bombard the Prime Minister, Paul Martin, the Senate leader, Senator Jack Austin; Senate leader of the Opposition, Senator Lynch-Staunton, and all the Senators, with letters, faxes, phone calls and e-mails, objecting to this bill”.  See yesterday’s LifeSiteNews Special Report on these developments at https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2004/apr/040413a.html
