SYDNEY, Jan 4, 2001 (LSN.ca) – Dr Philip Nitschke a euthanasia campaigner in Australia who has traveled the country over the past two years running workshops showing terminally ill people how to kill themselves has expanded his “service” to healthy people. Nitschke claims that he found his workshops for the terminally ill were sometimes attended by healthy people and thus decided to offer the workshops for healthy people. The Australian news service AAP reports “six healthy senior citizens (mostly in their 60s) will gather in Hobart at the end of this month to learn (from Nitschke) how to kill themselves.”

AAP notes that almost 300 people have attended Nitschke’s workshops with at least 40 of them subsequently taking their own lives.
