OTTAWA, July 16, 1998 (LSN) In a news release today, the Canadian government   announced that its Foreign Affairs Minister, Lloyd Axworthy is headed to Rome for the final day of the UN International Criminal Court Conference.

The Release stated “Canada has been working hard to win support for an   independent and effective ICC that will bring to justice those accused of the most   serious international offences such as genocide, war crimes and crimes against   humanity”.

Nowhere in the high sounding release is there any indication of the Canadian   delegation’s fanatical pre-occupation with abortion and gender issues during the   conference. Canada played the leading international role on these issues at the   conference and, contrary to the information given to the Canadian public in the   press release, had these issues as it’s highest priority.

There is some concern that Mr. Axworthy may be travelling to Rome in a last ditch effort to salvage some gains from the key losses experienced by Canada’s   ultra-feminist delegation.
