VANCOUVER, Mar 8, 2001 (LSN.ca) – The Vancouver constituency office of B.C. Premier Ujjal Dosanjh was picketed yesterday by about 15 young people from Campaign Life Coalition Youth. Also present was CLC B.C. president John Hof, who told LifeSite News that the effort was a response to Dosanjh’s decision to make abortion an election issue.

“Mr. Dosanjh warned British Columbians about ‘anti-choice’ individuals who support restrictions on abortion, as if those who value human life are the degenerates of society,” said Hof. “Our campaign will expose British Columbians to the ‘choice’ that Mr. Dosanjh supports. Mr. Dosanjh and his supporters will come face to face with abortion. Enough name calling. Enough rhetoric. It is time to show folks what an abortion choice really is.”

The demonstration included the display of large, graphic signs depicting the horrific results of abortion. A number of reporters were on hand to cover the event, and the demonstration was news for some four hours on B.C.‘s major radio station, CKNW. The station broadcast a quote from spokesperson Kaireen Piper, a 20-year-old student at the University of British Columbia, who said that Dosanjh “has put a moratorium on killing grizzly bears for the next three years; how about a three-year moratorium on killing unborn children?”
