VANCOUVER, May 30, 2001 (LSN.ca) – 1,000 Vancouver-area pro-lifers gathered on the evening of May 28 at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre for the Focus on Life Benefit dinner to raise money for pro-life television ads. The event was backed by the Pro-Life Society of BC, the Christian Advocacy Society of Greater Vancouver, and the Archdiocese of Vancouver. The three main speakers were Archbishop Adam Exner of Vancouver, Gary Thomas of Bellingham, Washington, who is founder and director of the Centre for Evangelical Spirituality and Mother Agnes Donovan of New York, the Superior General of Sisters of Life – an order established by Mother Agnes which is dedicated to protecting the sacredness of human life.
