KELWONA, BC, Apr 19 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The BC Ministry of Health is pumping $400,000 in operating funds into the first year of operation of a new abortion centre in Kelwona – bringing the total cost to almost one-million dollars. Ted Gerk, the head of B.C.‘s Pro-Life Resource Centre, said the spending was “outrageous.”

“The regional health board and Kelowna General Hospital officials seem totally out of touch with reality. While other procedures suffer, while patients in Kelowna ‘enjoy’ one of the longest waiting lists for necessary surgery in the province, they have earmarked elective abortion as the priority – and there seems to be no end to the amount of money they will   throw into its’ black hole,” said Gerk.  The abortion centre will be installed on the fifth floor of the Kelwona General hospital.  Gerk notes that considering the cost of administration, and having to fly an abortionist in to Kelowna the bill will likely exceed one million dollars. “Adding to the irony is the fact that at one part of the hospital, physicians will be doing all they can to save unborn children with medical problems while on the 5th floor they will taking their lives,” said Gerk.
