BRUSSELS, September 9, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Belgians from the ruling party are seeking to expand the country’s euthanasia laws to include children and teenagers.  Jeannine Leduc and Paul Wille, senators in the ruling Flemish Liberal party, are the sponsors of a bill introduced in parliament Wednesday that would open the door for physician killing of terminally ill children.

Along with an expansion of the law to include children, the senators also want the euthanasia law, enacted in 2002 despite strong physician opposition, to include a provision for patients to kill themselves with the assistance of a doctor.  Read related LifeSiteNews.com coverage:  Dutch Proposal for Euthanasia of Children Blasted by Vatican https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2004/sep/04090709.html   400 Reported Belgian Euthanasia Cases in Two Years https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2004/jul/04070911.html   tv
