January 27, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The American-based Catholic news network, EWTN Global Catholic Television Network, will no longer be available in Canada through Bell ExpressVu, come February 27th, LifeSiteNews.com (LSN) has confirmed.

Bell TV says that dropping EWTN is among a list of channel changes the company will make next month.

A representative of Bell told LSN that the removal was done because it “will free up bandwidth for new and more popular channels.”  The representative said that there would be a “repackaging” with other channels “similar to EWTN,” but did not have information about what the “similar” channels would be.

EWTN told LSN they had asked Bell TV to reconsider, but were told the decision to drop them was final.

EWTN provides by far the best live coverage each year of the National March for Life in Washington, D.C. and related activities, hosts a program with Fr. Frank Pavone and has numerous other solidly pro-life guests, commentaries and news reports. It consistently takes a position totally faithful to Catholic moral teachings.
