WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) — U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday issued a “Proclamation on Revoking the Air Travel COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement,” putting his seal on the official termination of the requirement set to take place May 12. The move comes days after the administration released an earlier statement announcing the requirement would be rolled back.

In the Tuesday proclamation, Biden said the U.S. is “in a different phase of the response to” COVID-19 than it was in October 2021, when Biden handed down the requirement mandating that air travelers from other countries show proof of vaccination against the coronavirus in order to enter the U.S.

Biden said that he had “determined that it was in the interests of the United States to adopt an international air travel policy that relied primarily on vaccination to limit the risk” posed by COVID-19 in accord with “guidance from our public health experts.”

However, ongoing research indicates that COVID-related mask and jab mandates were ineffective, as LifeSiteNews has extensively reported. In addition, the value of the experimental COVID shots has been called into serious question amid the shots’ sliding efficacy, failure to stop transmission, and reports of serious adverse events.

Regardless, Biden touted the successful marshaling of his administration’s “whole-of-government response to make historic investments in broadly accessible vaccines, tests, and therapeutics to help us combat COVID-19,” adding that “public health experts have issued guidance that allows all travelers to understand mitigation measures to protect themselves and those around them.”

“Considering the progress that we have made, and based on the latest guidance from our public health experts, I have determined that we no longer need the international air travel restrictions that I imposed in October 2021,” the president said.

The order to revoke the October mandate will officially take effect one minute after midnight on May 12, 2023.

The proclamation ending one of the last remaining COVID jab mandates in the United States comes as intrusive public health measures like mask mandates and vaccine requirements have caused lasting societal harm, drawn serious public backlash, and created division among Americans.
