(LifeSiteNews) – The action taken to suppress the truth about what the Hunter Biden laptop contained was instrumental in the outcome of the 2020 election, according to former Attorney General William Barr.

Barr commented on the infamous computer, which has been coined the “laptop from hell,” and the attempt to cover it up on March 17.

Barr said that “suppressing” the story “definitely made an impact on the election,” while appearing on Fox News.

When the laptop was unearthed, Twitter blocked the sharing of the story from the New York Post and other media players, casting doubt on the truth of the story. It was even called “Russian disinformation.”

Regarding the coverup of the laptop, Barr added: “And it’s not a question of whether it was criminal or not, right. Just the facts alone were shameful. And most Americans would immediately see what was going on and how repulsive it was, and it would have had an effect. The issue of criminality is a different issue.”

After the 2020 Presidential election, it was found that 17 percent of Biden voters would not have voted for him if they had known about the Hunter Biden scandal, which would have been more than enough voters to alter the outcome of the election.

In 2020, now-White House press secretary Jen Psaki was among a group that supported a letter from former members of the intelligence community claiming that the laptop scandal was a hoax from Russia.

The director of national intelligence in 2020 stated that the intelligence community saw “no intelligence” that corroborated claims that it was a matter of Russian disinformation. However, Barr said during his interview on Fox News that made no difference.

“As soon as this letter came out from these so-called intelligence specialists, the DNI, John Radcliffe at the time, and the FBI, which worked for me, both came out and said this was not the result of disinformation, Russian disinformation,” Barr said. “The media ignored that completely, just kept on going with the disinformation line.”

When the laptop was discovered in 2020, former co-host of Steve Bannon’s War Room, Jack Maxey, made it his mission to expose the contents therein.

He was booted from Twitter for his efforts, and has recently joined LifeSiteNews as a contributor to the Faith and Reason show.
