BILL TO ALLOW DESTRUCTIVE RESEARCH ON EMBRYOS PASSES FIRST READING IN FRANCE
PARIS, January 22, 2002 (LSN.ca) – A French government bill which permits destructive research on human embryos passed first reading in the National Assembly today. The bill by France's socialist government tabled only last week, would overturn a 1994 ban on research on human embryos. The bill bans all human cloning, barring also cloning “for therapeutic purposes.”
