OTTAWA, June 21 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Bill C-214, a private members bill which, if passed, would have required the federal government to pass all international treaties through Parliament before ratifying them, has been defeated at second reading despite support from all opposition parties.  In an upsetting loss, the bill was defeated 110 to 151.

Pro-life Liberal MPs surprisingly voted with the government even though their support for the bill could have made the difference between success and failure for this initiative which would have inhibited the very serious, on-going, international anti-family agenda via international treaties and agreements.
