VANCOUVER, May 5 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Wyeth-Ayerst Canada Inc., a pharmaceutical company, is set to launch Canada’s first television advertisements for birth control pills on Monday. The National Post reports that the media campaign also includes transit ads to be posted in 15 cities this summer and movie ads for more than 500 screens. The slick ads created by Toronto’s Anderson Advertising will begin Monday on MuchMusic, where it is slated to run through May and June. The ads will move to the national networks in the fall, targeting programs watched by teens.

“All it does is increase the promiscuity and sexual activity among children,” said John Hof,  president of the B.C. branch of Campaign Life Coalition. “We can’t even advertise hard liquor on our television, but we can advertise birth control pills. What are we doing to our kids?”
