August 14, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Kazakhstan's Bishop Athanasius Schneider endorsed America’s October 7 “Rosary Coast to Coast” in a video message, saying Our Lady can provide “consolation in the midst of the great doctrinal and liturgical confusion which reigns in the life of the Church.”

Inspired by successful initiatives in Poland and Ireland, the U.S. “Rosary Coast to Coast” will consist of rosary rallies across the country on the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary.

“I wholeheartedly welcome and endorse this noble prayer initiative,” said Bishop Schneider.

Bishop Schneider, known around the world for his defenses of orthodoxy and Catholic tradition, began his endorsement by noting, “in moments of great danger, a child grasps spontaneously the hand of its mother, seeking her protection and consolation.”

“There was hardly another epoch in history in which Christianity was attacked so systematically, cruelly, and cunningly as it is the case in our days,” he said. “One has the impression that the attacks will be still intensified.”

But Catholics have the “unspeakable happiness and privilege to be children of Mary, of a mother who is the Queen of Heaven and Earth, who conquered all heresies.”

“As children of Mary, we want to grasp the hand of our heavenly mother in order to have protection against the visible and invisible attacks of the enemies of Christ in order to receive consolation in the midst of the great doctrinal and liturgical confusion which reigns in the life of the Church of our days,” the bishop continued. “The seeking refuge in the arms of our heavenly Mother finds its best expression in the prayer of the rosary.”

Without naming specific countries, Bishop Schneider recalled that Catholics have initiated similar rosary events in other places.

“It would be desirable that such human praying chains would be formed in many places, circling our villages, our towns, and our countries,” he said. “May there arise a new movement of people who courageously will pray the rosary in public places.”

“The Rosary of Our Lady will bring the victory of our Catholic faith, the victory both over the enemies of the Catholic faith outside and inside the Church,” Bishop Schneider explained. “The rosary will bring us protection and victory over the enemies of Christ.”
