(LifeSiteNews) — The following is a press release sent to LifeSiteNews on Bishop Joseph Strickland’s new weekly study of Sacred Scripture.
“THE BISHOP TEACHES”: A New Weekly Journey Through Sacred Scripture with Bishop Joseph Strickland
Beginning Sunday, September 13, 2026, at PillarsOfFaith.net, visit “The Bishop Teaches.”
Christ entrusted His Word to His Church, and He entrusted to the Apostles – and to their successors, the bishops – the sacred responsibility of faithfully teaching, guarding, and handing on the Deposit of Faith.
The Bishop does not teach merely as a private scholar or commentator. As a successor of the Apostles, he has received a sacred teaching office within the Church: to proclaim the Word of God, to guard faithfully what has been handed down, and to teach the flock.
It is in that spirit that we are pleased to announce a new weekly series: THE BISHOP TEACHES, a new weekly journey through Sacred Scripture with Bishop Joseph Strickland.
We will begin where Sacred Scripture begins: Genesis. Week by week, we will open the Scriptures together and read Sacred Scripture with the Church: in the light of Sacred Tradition, the teaching of the Church, the wisdom of the Church Fathers, and the unity of the Old and New Testaments – always seeking the One toward whom all of Scripture ultimately leads: Jesus Christ.
This is an invitation to rediscover Sacred Scripture as Catholics have received it throughout the centuries – within the living faith of the Church.
Join us beginning Sunday, September 13, 2026, with a new teaching passage each week.
Read. Listen. Reflect. Pray.
