BIRMINGHAM, ALA. October 15, 2002 (LSN.ca) – On Monday over 50 African-Americans gathered in Birmingham to march for life. The “Say-So” (after the saying – If you love children say-so) march calls attention to the fact that “Every day in the United States, 1,452 African-American children are violently executed…before they’re ever born.” The event is sponsored by the Life Education and Resource Network, or LEARN, which calls abortion “black genocide.” Along the way, marchers have an opportunity to educate the communities they pass through as they carry graphic, 13-foot signs depicting both the historic mistreatment of born African-Americans, and the current mistreatment of unborn African-Americans. They note statistics indicating that 3 out of 5 pregnant African-American women will abort their child. “Since 1973 there has been over 13 million Black children killed and their precious mothers victimized by the U.S. abortion industry. With 1/3 of all abortions performed on Black women, the abortion industry has received over 4,000,000,000 (yes, billion) dollars from the Black community,” says the LEARN website. March leader Johnny M. Hunter said the abortion industry has “targeted” blacks by locating a disproportionate number of clinics in majority black areas.
