OTTAWA, May 1, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Homosexual Bloc Québecois MP Réal Ménard and colleague Richard Marceau have issued a statement of his party’s support for same-sex marriage, calling it a matter of the “equality of citizens.”  The April 27 statement calls the issues a very “simple” matter of “principle,” and one supported by a large consensus within the Québec population. Ménard urged the federal government to take steps to rectify the injustice allegedly suffered by gays and lesbians not permitted to marry in federal law.  To read the Bloc’s position see:  https://www.blocquebecois.org/  (under “Autres manchettes récentes” see “Pour le Bloc Québécois, le marriage des conjoints de même sexe est une question d’égalité des citoyens devant la loi”)
