(LifeSiteNews) — On this week’s episode of The Bishop Strickland Show, Bishop Joseph Strickland speaks about the responsibility of all Catholics to safeguard the full deposit of faith and sacred tradition.
Even though bishops make a public promise to safeguard the full deposit of faith, all baptized Catholics should do their part as well. This includes holding our bishops accountable whenever they fail to adequately uphold it.
“It comes down to the same truth,” His Excellency says. “We are to guard a truth that is beyond us, that is outside us, that is found in the Incarnate Son of God. Both of us get excited about these things because we need to. The world is in desperate need of clarity and truth in the Church, in our nation, and globally.”
Because Jesus Christ is God and God is Truth, denying the truth is tantamount to denying Jesus Christ. Bishop Strickland acknowledges that the word of God is “challenging,” but it ultimately “brings us the revealed truth of who we are and who God is.”
“And we better listen,” he says.
