BRAIN SURGERY ON UNBORN BABY

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 21 (LSN) – On Friday, the parents of the first child who has survived brain surgery performed before birth showed off their now 5-week old son. Neal Borkowski, who was born on May 12, went through brain surgery on March 2 at Vanderbilt University Medical Centre to treat hydrocephalus (too much fluid in the brain, which leads to mental dysfunction and premature death). Neal appears to be healthy and doctors are hoping that he will continue to progress normally.
