Roe v. Wade overturning articles: Life is WINNING. Will you donate today to support LifeSite’s coverage of this momentous decision in the pro-life movement? We will need your help to continue our pro-life news now more than ever

(LifeSiteNews) – In response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s upending of Roe v. Wade in its June 24 Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, President Joe Biden signed an executive order today “protecting access to reproductive health services.”

The all-hands-on deck order will support abortion on demand until the moment of birth.

In a fact sheet released early Friday morning, the Oval Office said it would direct the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to protect and expand access to “medication abortion” while also ordering the Attorney General and the White House Counsel to “convene private pro bono attorneys, bar associations, and public interest organizations” to provide legal counsel for women seeking abortions and doctors committing abortions.

The White House statement also reiterated that immediately following the Supreme Court decision, the Biden administration promised to fight any “attack by a state or local official who attempts to interfere with women exercising this right.”

Biden’s executive order will establish an “Interagency Task Force,” which “will provide technical assistance to states affording legal protection to out-of-state patients as well as providers who offer legal reproductive health care.”

Biden is ‘focused on expanding the death-care known as abortion’

“A great victory for life was won last month as Roe v Wade was overturned,” noted pro-life activist Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King, Jr.

“BUT President Biden and liberals in Congress are focused on expanding the death-care known as abortion,” continued King. “We must pray and we must act to save our unborn!”

“Abortion is not a ‘reproductive healthcare service,’” tweeted Ryan Anderson, President of the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, D.C.

“Reproduction has already occurred–and there are two patients who need ‘healthcare services’–if you are contemplating abortion,” added Anderson.

Democrats abandon mantra of ‘safe, legal, and rare’

“Long gone is the Democratic Party of ‘safe, legal, and rare,’” declared a statement issued by Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America (formerly the Susan B. Anthony List) President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “President Biden has once again caved to the extreme abortion lobby, determined to put the full weight of the federal government behind promoting abortion.”

“Democrats will stop at nothing to promote their agenda of abortion on demand, up until the moment of birth, paid for by the taxpayers – including dangerous mail-order abortion drugs — even if it means gutting the long-standing filibuster, increasing the size of the Supreme Court, or putting abortionists in tents in national parks,” continued Dannenfelser.

The New York Times noted that many of Biden’s “core supporters” are disappointed with what they perceive as inaction to protect abortion in the wake of Roe‘s fall. They “have repeatedly called on the White House to push harder to find novel ways around the court decision and the subsequent limits on abortion imposed by Republican-led state legislatures.”

Dannenfelser said her organization is “committed to exposing Democrats’ abortion extremism to voters across key battleground states so this extreme agenda can be soundly rejected at the ballot box this November.”
