(LifeSiteNews) — Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), died Wednesday afternoon after he was shot during an event on the campus of Utah Valley University.
Kirk’s death was first reported by President Donald Trump. A suspect is in custody as of Wednesday evening, according to FBI Director Kash Patel.
Kirk was 31 and leaves behind a wife and two young children.

One person at the scene reported that an “organizer closer to Charlie’s position said he was shot in the neck,” and added that the “conversation was how many trans mass shooters there have been.”
In a video shared to social media, Kirk appears to have been struck while speaking to a large gathering of students.
Utah Senator Mike Lee said on X that he was tracking the situation at Utah Valley University closely.
“Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk and the students gathered there,” urged the Senator.
